- ItemImpact of Capital Structure on Firm Performance of American Firms in the S&P 100 Index(2022) JANICE TAN WENQINGThis paper will be studying on the impact of capital structure on firm performance in American firms listed under the S&P 100 index. The data is taken from the Datastream database consist of 87 American firms from the S&P 100 index. There are four independent variable (Debt/Asset ratio, Debt/Equity ratio, Long Term Debt, and Current Liabilities) used as proxy of capital structure. While there are two dependent variables (Return on Equity (ROE) and Earnings Per Share (EPS)) are proxies for firm performance. The control variable of firm size is represented by the natural log of total asset as seen in Li and Hwang (2011). The study is conducted using a panel set data and analysed using the OLS multiple regression model. The study shows that capital structure does affect firm performance. As such, firms should now have a better understanding on which sources of financing they should use for their future growth.

There are many problems rise when students are not ready to pursue their career. In improving their career readiness, they should be able to recognize their own personality whether they are clarified to have proactive personality and career maturity. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of proactive personality on career maturity among Malaysian students. An online survey was used as component to complete this research. The data has been collected from fifty-three respondents which includes students from college and universities in Malaysia. The key factors in this research are proactive personality and career maturity of students in Malaysia.

The independent variables are board size, board meeting and dividend yield whereas the dependent variables is return on equity and return on assets. There a few literature review has been done for this research. To conclude that board size, board meeting and dividend yield has no impact on the firm performance. Therefore, more study on this topic should be done in further.
